Moria - No Light Ahead

Moria were all over the scene in the early 2000’s. If you went to a local show in Cali Moria was more than likely on the bill. They’ve played with anyone you can think of from the golden era; Elysia, Animosity, Bury Your Dead, Knights of the Abyss, All Shall Parish… the list goes on and on. They also ran a few full U.S tours with Arsonists Get All The Girls, Contra and The Final Burden so you may have caught them in your hometown as well. They were an absolute staple in the MySpace era metal scene and it’s awesome to see they are active again after all these years.

Moria plays a mix of deathcore and metalcore but is also very heavily influenced by hardcore. Breakdowns, crawls, 2-steps, blasts, chants and solo’s fill this record. The guitars are relentless and harmonize perfectly and the drums are precise and technical. Taylor’s vocals are such a perfect fit; incredibly strong gutturals, highs, lows and gang chants give No Light Ahead its unique hardcore influenced sound.
