Knives Exchanging Hands - Hiatus
SSR029
This band is so incredibly important to me. As a teenager I was invited to Cup of Life Coffee (828 where you at?) for my first local show. This was my introduction to Knives and would ultimately open me up to the local NC metal scene. If you were around NC in the early 2000’s you most likely watched them play; The Soundvent, Tremont, The Teen Center (seriously 828 where tf you at?), some random barn in Taylorsville….. it doesn’t matter where, they were likely on the bill and you knew they were always going to play a killer set. They were a gigantic part of the scene and I’m honored to have had the chance to catch them almost every weekend.
I guess it’s easier to consider Knives metalcore but they also add elements of death and grindcore to their sound. Catchy riffs, bouncy breakdowns, technical solos and iconic panic chords all come together to create that perfect metalcore sound that was so prevalent in the era. Travis’s vocals and powerful lyrics complement the music so well too. The whole record is just brimming with talent and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to bring this back for the old heads while also introducing it to a new generation. Listen now on our bandcamp!
